Light & fluffy Pumpkin Fritters


  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup baking flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp white sugar
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp all spice
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 large egg

Directions: In a mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients together to form a batter. Place a small amount of batter in hot oil and fry for 2 minutes or until light golden brown. Once all the fritters are fried, dust lightly with icing sugar.

Spicy Pumpkin souppumpkin


  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 chopped red onion
  • 3 crushed garlic cloves
  • 2 potatoes peeled and chopped
  • 1kg pumpkin peeled and chopped
  • ¼ tsp dried chilli flakes
  • 2 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 litre chicken stock
  • ½ cup fresh cream
  • chopped chives to serve

Directions: Fry onion and garlic in the olive oil. Add the chopped potatoes, pumpkin, coriander and chilli flakes and fry for a few minutes. Add chicken stock and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes until the pumpkin and potatoes are tender. Blend together. Stir in cream and sprinkle some chopped chives over. Serve with a warm toasted baguette.

  • 1 ½ cups coconut milk
  • ½ cup pumpkin puree
  • ½ a banana
  • 2 tbsp of pecan nuts
  • ½ tsp chai powder
  • ¼ tsp of vanilla essence

Directions: Blend all the ingredients and enjoy! You can heat up the coconut milk if you prefer a warm smoothie.

Tea time Pumpkin muffins


  • 1¾ cups flour
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground cloves
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 can pure pumpkin puree
  • ½ cup coconut oil, melted
  • 1 tsp whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, white sugar, brown sugar, coconut oil, milk and vanilla essence. Add the rest of the ingredients to the mixture and stir to form a consistent batter. Divide the batter in a muffin pan and bake for 25 minutes on 190 degrees celsius. Ready to serve!

Indulgent Pumpkin Piepumpkin

Ingredients for filling:

  • 3 large eggs
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • ⅓ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 can pumpkin puree
  • 175ml heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • ¼ tsp ground gloves
  • ½ tsp salt

Directions: Whisk eggs, white and brown sugar till smooth. Add all the other ingredients and mix until well blended. Keep one side.

For the pie crust, you can either buy ready made pie crust from your local supermarket or use this easy recipe to make your own.

  • 1 ½ cups baking flour
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp white sugar
  • 8 TBS unsalted butter cut in small blocks.
  • 5 TBS ice water

Directions: Combine flour, salt and sugar in a mixing bowl. Mix the butter into the dry ingredients until you get a crumb like texture. Add some ice water to mix into a dough. Do not over  knead the dough. Place the dough in cling wrap and refridgerate for 30 minutes.

Once you have your pie crust and pumpkin filling, the rest is a breeze. Press the dough into a round pie dish, top it up with your pumpkin filling and bake for 35 – 45 minutes on 180 degrees celsius. This is my favourite dessert!
